Jessica attended Cal State University Long Beach and has been in the Veterinary field for ten years and at OVG specifically for a year. Her favorite part of her job is cuddling all of the pit bulls and german shepherds that come to OVG, and her favorite task to perform is helping calm down all the aggressive or caution dogs and making them love her.

If you could be an animal for a day, what animal would you choose and why?

A pit bull so that I could sleep all day and snuggle, maybe growl at people I want to go away. 

Favorite Dog need and why?

Pit bulls— they are so sweet and misunderstood.

What is your number one tip you have for pet owners?

Please stop consulting Google. Ask your veterinarian if you have questions or concerns—a much more reliable source. 

What's your go-to Starbucks drink?

An upside-down, iced caramel macchiato with whipped cream. 

What made you go into the veterinary medicine field for your career?

My love for my animals and seeing the progression from sich and injured to better and being part of that process. 

Which OVG core value do you most embody? 

I'm passionate about my job and patients. 

What's your idea of the perfect day off? 

A day at the beach and the next day off too. 

Who would you consider your biggest mentor/inspiration in your career? 

Dr.Anita. She has the biggest heart and is full of knowledge and experience. She's also fun to work with and is there when you need her outside of work. Just an amazing listener and mentor.
