We’d like to introduce you all to our newest veterinarian, Dr. Charlotte Kim!
Dr. Kim grew up in both Ohio and in Seoul, Korea. As a six-year old girl, she noticed a sharp contrast between Ohio and Seoul in the 80s—while living in Korea, she really missed the nature and animals.
Later in her teen years, she was able to visit her hometown of Ohio again. One experience she recalls involves her parents’ friends as they were nursing a baby deer back to health with the help of a veterinarian. This amazing experience led the future Dr. Kim to pursue her dream of becoming a vet.
Coming back to the U.S. at the age of 17 was no easy task, however Dr. Kim persevered to pursue her dream. She eventually received her B.S. in Bioveterinary Science from Utah State University. Then, she graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.
Dr. Kim has worked at various settings of veterinary medicine including a mixed-animal practice, exotic-animal practice, small-animal practice, emergency hospital and non-profit organizations seeking the best ways to provide service for people and their pets. Dr Kim has a strong interest in internal medicine and also has a growing interest in acupuncture.
In her spare time, Dr. Kim likes to go to fitness classes, travel, read, write, and snowboard. Dr Kim is a big lover of Golden Retrievers.
