Registered Veterinary Technician

Jesselain graduated from Carrington College with honors and was on the dean's list for mentoring others. She has been in the field for almost 20 years, starting as a kennel technician, and has been an RVT for 14 years. OVG was lucky enough to gain such an experienced RVT a little over a year ago. 

What is your favorite part about your job? The patients! When we make a difference in their life, we save their lives.

If you could be an animal for a day, what animal would you choose to be and why? Cheetah. Fast and sexy

You can only eat one dish for every meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for a whole month; what meal are you choosing? Tacos

Favorite dog breed and why? Dane Big lovers, loyal and smart.

Favorite cat breed? Snowshoe Siamese

You're stranded on an island for a month; what 4 things are you bringing with you? Sun tan oil, Drinks, Phone, My bestie.

If you had to take one coworker from OVG with you, who would you take and why? Trent or Jessica Both strong, hardworking, and make me laugh

What is your favorite responsibility/task/procedure to perform at work? Phlebotomy and dental extractions.

What is your number one tip you have for pet owners? It can be anything from care tips, treat/food recommendations, tips before vet visits, etc. Spay and neuter, and wear the E-collars!

Which Hogwarts House would you be in and why? Hufflepuff. Caring, loves animals, creative, honest, weird most of all

What's your go-to Starbucks drink? White chocolate mocha for a warm drink Very berry hibiscus for a cold drink

What made you go into the veterinary medicine field for your career? A deep love for animals since babyhood.

Which OVG core value do you most embody and why? (Passionate, genuine, collaborative, fun, respectful) Genuine.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world where would you go and why? Africa To see the wildlife, especially Cheetahs

Who would you consider your biggest mentor/inspiration in your career? Why? Dr. B, He was a kind-hearted, loving man. Loves his animals, his family, and his coffee road girls. He taught me so much. He was a very intelligent man and taught very well. Was a former teacher at U.C. Davis as well.
