Veterinary Technician
Mary has her associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from MJC and has worked in the veterinary field, on and off, for four years. She's been with OVG for about a month now. Her favorite part of her job is all the people that she gets to meet.
What is your number one tip you have for pet owners? It can be anything from care tips, treat/food recommendations, tips before vet visits, etc.
Get pet insurance!
You can only eat one dish for every meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for a whole month; what meal are you choosing?
I would choose the Big Jake sandwich from Mr. Pickles with no onions.
Favorite dog breed and why?
I love pitties. I’m a sucker for a grey pitty. But my favorite dog to pet are Labs.
What is your favorite responsibility/task/procedure to perform at work?
My all-time favorite is blood draws/IVC placements, but I don’t get to do those yet, so I would have to say wrapping the surgery packs.
You're stranded on an island for a month; what 4 things are you bringing with you? Which OVG employee are you bringing with you?
A series of books, sunscreen, a month's supply of food, and a tent. Natalie, she is very easy to talk to, and I feel like she could be resourceful.
What is your idea of the perfect day off?
I get to sleep in, everything is already taken care of, I don’t have to make a single decision the whole day, I can be lazy and not feel guilty about it.
What's your go to Starbucks drink?
Iced caramel macchiato with vanilla sweet cream cold foam and extra caramel drizzle.
Which OVG core value do you most embody and why? (Passionate, genuine, collaborative, fun, respectful)
I think I most embody the core value of “genuine” because I don’t try to be something I’m not; if I make mistakes, I am the first to come forward and claim it.
