Dr Ned Trathan

dr trathan I grew up in Cambridge, England and gained my degrees at the University of Liverpool, England, graduating in 2008 with both a Bachelors and a Masters in veterinary science. Prior to settling in Oakdale, I worked as a small animal veterinarian in England and a mixed animal veterinarian in Australia. I have volunteered my services at animal charities in the Philippines and in West Africa. In 2011, I completed a scholarship in orthopedics and neurosurgery at a world renowned specialist center I have two dogs, a cat, nine chickens, a goat and a steer. I enjoy Crossfit when I can find some spare time in my day. I love living in the community of Oakdale and look forward to meeting all of you and your animal friends in the near future.

Dr Jenny Edwards

I grew up nearby in Riverbank, California, where my family’s many pets and involvement in 4-H fostered an early love of animals. I graduated from Riverbank High School and went on to attend UC Berkeley for my undergraduate degree in Integrative Biology (Go Bears!). The travel bug got the best of me, however, and I found myself pursuing my veterinary dream overseas in the United Kingdom at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. While a student I worked in a variety of small animal and large animal externships around the UK and California, as well as a veterinary hospital in Egypt. I returned to California after graduating and have been practicing locally and throughout the state ever since. In addition to dogs and cats I also have an interest in working with exotics, wildlife, and farm animals. If I’m not globetrotting when I have time off, I try to make the most of what California has to offer: sunshine, mountains, gardening, the beach?, and adventures with my petite pit bull, Persimmon?. I am committed to practicing a high standard of veterinary medicine, I love working with the team at Oakdale Veterinary Group, and I look forward to continuing to be part of this central valley community.

Dr Cal Cadmus

cadmus I have always had a dog by my side; if not duck hunting or trout fishing, then horseback hunting or running retriever field trials.

I went to Downey High School, swam on the Sac Joaquin Sections winning medley relay team and was recently inducted in the Downey High School Hall of Fame. Oakdale as a community is important to me and I feel it is important to give back what we have taken. For a period of seven years I was on the Board of Directors for the OVDH and now am on the board of the Cowboy Museum and involved in Rotary International.

I attended undergraduate studies at UCD and graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. I completed a residency in Dermatology in 1979 including an orthopedic research position with Dr. Robert Leighton. In 1972, I began training Labrador Retrievers for the sport of Retriever Field trials and won the National Amateur Retriever Championship in 1986 with Winsom Cargo. My love of the sport and Labradors has since been incorporated in our veterinary practice as we see competitive dogs from all over the US. It is not uncommon for me to bring home a dog or two from a field trial to work up a lameness or other health problem. I look forward to seeing your dog or cat for years to come.

Dr Robin Clark (Cadmus)

Dr Robin Cadmus My high school years were spent in California’s Imperial Valley. Most of my veterinary experience was in food animal medicine as my dad managed a large feedlot where I spent much of my free time following him around walking pens checking for sick steers. After high school I attended 3 years of undergraduate study at UCSD and entered UCD School of Veterinary Medicine in 1973. I graduated in 1977 and found my first job in a mixed animal practice in Modesto. 18 months later, Cal & I were building Oakdale Veterinary Group and opened doors in April 1979.

My veterinary interests are varied but I always enjoy a challenge in either surgery or medicine. Cal & I have 2 daughters, Jill and Jen. Jill practices with us at OVG and Jen, works in Social Media business marketing in San Jose.

In my spare time you may find me at CrossFit Oakdale trying to find the fountain of youth, in front of the TV, knitting, while watching your World Champion SF Giants, or enjoying the outdoors with my best friend and husband, Cal.
